Who this is for
Some people arrive having already done real work on themselves and can feel that something underneath still hasn’t moved. Others have never sat with anyone this way before. Both belong here.
This work suits people who are, on the whole, managing their lives — their work, their relationships, the day-to-day — and still sense that something underneath isn’t settled. It asks for a certain readiness: a willingness to look inward, to stay with difficulty rather than move around it, and to let change come slowly instead of seeking a quick fix.
How the work works
This is ongoing, depth-oriented therapy — usually weekly, often over a longer horizon than short-term or skills-based approaches. We meet by video, wherever you are in New York.
The orientation is psychoanalytic: we pay attention to what surfaces, what repeats, what’s hard to say. My work isn’t to hand you my read of you. It’s to help you reach and put words to what’s already true in you — the things you know but haven’t yet been able to say. You’ll be met gently, and honestly. That combination is the point.
Beginning
The initial consultation is where we decide together whether this is the right fit. Depth-oriented work isn’t the right approach for every situation or every moment.
If it isn’t right for what you’re facing, I’ll tell you, and help point you toward the kind of care that would serve you better.
